Winslow ScottWinslow “Win” Scott age 87 of Redwood Falls died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Sunwood Good Samaritan Care Center in Redwood Falls, MN.  A memorial service will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.  Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls is assisting the family with arrangements.

Winslow Keating Scott was born on January 13, 1930 to Paul F. and M. Edna Keating Scott.  Win spent his childhood in Queens, NY and Cheshire, CT.  He graduated from Hill House High School in New Haven, CT in 1948.  He enlisted in the USMC in 1948 and went active in October 1948.  He served in Guam and the US Naval Base in Japan.  He later fought in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir during the Korean War where he was injured and received the Purple Heart for his service.  After returning stateside, he was stationed at New London, CT until his discharge in 1951.  He then attended Quinnipiac College in business administration.  In 1957, Win was united in marriage to Shirley Wacha.  Together they had three children: Bridget, Matthew, and Michael.  During this time he was employed by Gillette Company, safety razor division in sales and worked in the upper Midwest area.  In 1978, he married Kay Buetow Saelens.  They had one son, Jon, and they made their home in Eagan, MN.  After retiring in 1987, they moved to their home in the Smoky Mountains, Waynesville, NC.  During his retirement, he served as the Executive Director of the Chosin Few, Inc. for 10 years.  He also owned and operated a small vending business in the Waynesville area.  In 2008 Win suffered a major stroke and in 2010 he and Kay moved to Redwood Falls, MN.  During his active years, Win was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying trapping, hunting, and fly fishing.  He enjoyed reading and watching any type of sports.  He enjoyed visiting with people, and everyone was his friend.

Win is survived by his wife Kay of Redwood Falls; children: Bridget (Doug) Delozier of Brentwood, TN, Matthew Scott of Denver, CO, Michael (Sheila) Scott of Apple Valley, MN, Jon (Cindy) Scott of Charlotte, NC, Chris Saelens of Redwood Falls, MN; along with 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  Win is preceded in death by his parents, sister Nancy Williams, and daughter Lisa (Saelens) Kronick.
