Don “Duck” Schulte, age 73 of Tracy formerly of Townsend, MT, passed away suddenly Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls. Military honors will be performed at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 14 at Tracy Area Funeral Home, followed by a visitation from 3:00-6:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be at a later date. Don Schulte was born May 6, 1948 to Alvin and Doris (Blake) Schulte in Marshall, Minnesota. He graduated from Marshall High school in 1966 and continued his education at Granite Falls VO-TECH, where he earned a degree in fluid power. Don then worked in Sioux Falls for a short time before being drafted into the U.S. Army February 1969. He served in Vietnam as a helicopter mechanic and received his honorable discharge in 1971. After the service Don returned home to Marshall. He worked a variety of jobs in Tracy, before moving to Montana in the mid-1980s. There he worked construction for several years before retiring. Don moved back home to Tracy in March 2019. He loved to go hunting, especially Elk hunting and also enjoyed shooting pool. Don is survived by his siblings: Donna Lanoue of Tracy, Caroline “Kip” Gerry of Madison, SD, Annie (Bill) Curwick of Marshall, Myron “Buck” (Rose) Schulte of Amiret, and Brian (Pam) Schulte of Watertown, SD; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Lawrence “Bud” Schulte. |
