Carol Lynn Bohannon Dunker 57, of Tracy, MN passed away at the Prairie View Senior Living in Tracy on Feb. 22, 2024 after a long battle with breast cancer. Carol was born on August 30, 1966 in Seattle, WA to Larry D. and Mona (Fruichantie) Bohannon. She grew up in Washington State with one brother, Joseph DeWayne Bohannon. She was preceded in death by her father and her beloved brother. She is survived by her husband, son, granddaughter, mother, stepfather (Pops), stepbrothers, stepsisters, and their families as well as many other close family members and dear friends. She married her high school beau, Troy VanMarter and had one son, Tyler Laine VanMarter (later adopted and named Tyler James Vano.) She has one granddaughter, Amy Lynn Vano. Carol later married her true love and soul mate, Kevin Dunker of Marysville, WA on August 17, 2013. Carol had a twinkle in her eye and a wonderful mischievous side and kept it throughout her life. She was a talented baker, a natural decorator, a terrific cook, party planner, seamstress, etc. and a lover of Persian cats. She started a club earlier as a young adult which she named, Operation Sugar Cookie. Every year around Christmas she would gather some of her friends and bake cookies to share with others. She was an amazing daughter, grandmother, mother, sister, wife, and friend. Along with her many deep friendships, her home was always a warm place for anyone to gather. She grew up with a love for the outdoors and loved to camp, hike, search for agates, and raft the rivers, mainly on the Rogue River in Oregon where she requested a gathering to celebrate her life and spread her ashes. Each of her many rocks (treasures) has a story behind it. She was a beautiful person inside and out and would always try to help anyone in need. Carol tried to leave everyone with a smile, no matter how much pain she was in. And I hope I will be as brave as her when my time comes. We honored and treasured our days with her here on earth. Her love-filled spirit and courage inspired us all. We think of you daily honey, and our memories are filled with your love. May God rest her beautiful soul! Those who loved her will be so lucky to meet her and laugh with her again. RIP Carol. Mom, Gene (Pops), Dee Ann, Jr., Ellyn, Jim, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and so many of her friends.
