He was baptized and confirmed at the Presbyterian Church in Wabasso. He attended Wabasso Public School graduating in 1974 before earning an Associate’s Degree from Southwest State University. Kevin was briefly married to Brenda Krause of Marshall and together they had a daughter, Shannon, in 1977. Job opportunities took him out of Minnesota for a short time, but things came full circle when he returned to Wabasso to live the rest of his life 5 miles from where he grew up. Several years later in 1989, he met the love of his life, Joan Woelfel, and they would ultimately marry. Kevin loved working with people and thrived in sales. He worked several years for Schwan’s and other sales positions, but his greatest professional accomplishments came from helping people envision and build their homes. Starting in sales with Schult Homes for 9 years, he spent 20 years as co-owner of Factory Home Center. Music has always been important, playing with several local bands over the years and at family gatherings. He loved spending time outdoors, whether it was reading a book, drinking coffee, gardening, or playing golf. He cherished his time at the lake, fishing and cruising on the pontoon. He loved spending time with his family and friends, watching his grandkids grow up, going to the neighbor kids’ and grandkids’ sports and activities. Card playing and rooting for the Vikings was a must! He also enjoyed his winters in South Padre Island with Joan, making new friends in their travels. Kevin is survived by his wife Joan, daughter Shannon (Mark) Pedersen of Marshall, grandchildren Jack and Beret Pedersen of Marshall, siblings: Pat (Dorothy) Sinclair of Missouri, Dean (Mary Jane) Sinclair of Florida, Sheila (Elvin) Snyder of Oregon, and sister-in-law Karen Sinclair of Kansas, mother-in-law Elaine Woelfel of Redwood Falls, sister-in-law Teri Woelfel of Echo, and brother-in-law Gene Hansen of Nebraska, and many nieces, nephews, and close friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, sister Sandy (Darrell) Fuhr, and brother Mike Sinclair. |
