Norma Jean Moeller, age 84 of Redwood Falls, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 in Winter Park, FL. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Norma requested that memorials be directed to the Cancer Society and Hospice. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Norma Jean Moeller was born December 6, 1939 in Lake Stay Township, Lincoln County, Minnesota to Oscar J. and Myrtle E. (Johnson) Gudmundson. She grew up on a farm by Ivanhoe, MN and graduated from Ivanhoe High School in 1957. Norma attended the National School of Business at Rapid City, South Dakota graduating in 1958. She married Richard Moeller on December 30, 1961 and they had two children, Robyn and Brad. Norma worked in Rapid City until September 1965, when they moved to Redwood Falls, MN, where Norma worked at Citizens State Bank, now known as Minnwest Bank for 38 years. She retired in 2003. Norma was active in the community. She was a member and served as treasurer of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, was county treasurer of the Salvation Army for 28 years, president of Redwood County Bankers Associates, Ambassador of Redwood Falls Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of Kiwanis Club, served on the Redwood Area School Board, Treasurer for American Field Service, Chairman for Redwood Falls Housing Development Authority, and served on the Redwood Falls Golf Board. Upon retiring, Norma spent her time golfing, reading, playing pool, walking, and renewing old friendships and making many new ones. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She and her husband spent winters in Mesa, Arizona as well as many trips to Florida. Norma is survived by her husband Richard; daughter Robyn Melton (Donald), Casselberry, FL; son Bradley Moeller (Tammy), Sarasota FL; three grandchildren: Noah Melton, Renessa Hoffman, and Ryan Catlin; and 2 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother and sister: Gordon Gudmundson (Nancy), Lynnwood, WA, Clarice Mattoon, Lewiston, ID. She is preceded in death by her parents: Oscar J and Myrtle E Gudmundson, brothers: Orvin, Arnie, Harvey, Willard, & Dean Gudmundson, and sisters: Doris Larson, Dorothy Lien, Joan Anderson, and Ardis Berns. |
