Carolyn Kaye Krick, 77, passed away August 17th, 2025. Born on December 5th, 1945, in Slayton, MN. She was the third of eight children of the late Roy and Elsie Krick. She spent her career working for the federal government in agencies including the Pentagon, the VA Hospital, US Army Corps of Engineers, Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Mines and the White House. She took great pride in serving as assistant to First Lady Betty Ford, supporting her both in the White House and throughout the transition after President Ford’s presidency. Carolyn enjoyed baking, gardening, reading, spirituality, volunteering, continuing education courses, and nurturing her lifelong interest in foreign affairs. One of Carolyn’s greatest joys in life was being a mother. She enjoyed visiting her daughter and son-in-law for holidays and other occasions. They recently crossed off all the Presidential Libraries and even a trip to Cancun. Carolyn loved her extended family, enjoyed spending time with them and prioritized attending family celebrations. She was preceded in death by her brothers Roger Krick and Dennis Krick as well as her parents Roy and Elsie Krick. She is survived by her daughter Lise Courtney Spriggle (John Robert), Siblings Connie Messer (Gary), Nancy Boeck (Rodney), Janell Hospital (Jerry), Marcia Reed (Steve), and Karen Krick. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews as well as grandnieces and, grandnephews. Family and friends will be received from 9:45 AM-10:45 AM on Thursday September 18th 2025. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:45 AM at the Chapel of Catholic Eldercare at 817 Main Street NE. Minneapolis, MN. Interment will follow at Westbrook Cemetery on Friday September 19th 2025 at 10:30 AM.
