Jeanne Marie Vickery, age 72, of Sleepy Eye, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20th, 2025, at Divine Providence Community Home in Sleepy Eye.  The family plans to have a celebration of life at a later date. Stephens Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jeanne Marie Vickery was born on Thursday, April 9th, 1953, in Menominee, Michigan and was the oldest of 4 children of John A. and Geraldine (Lysakowski) Williams namely brother John “Jack” II, sister Barb and Brother Jim.  She was baptized April 19th, 1953.  The family moved to Winona where Jeanne was kept busy babysitting for the neighbors, riding horses, swimming on the Catalina Swim Team, and as an A cheerleader for Winona Public School where she graduated in 1971.  She then worked for a few years teaching special needs students.  Jeanne was united in marriage to the love of her life Matthew Vickery in Winona on Friday, June 18th, 1976 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the reception following at the American Legion Club.  The newly wedded couple moved to Spokane, Washington where Matt went to Gonzaga Law School and Jeanne worked to put Matt through school.  The family moved back to Minnesota and settled in Sleepy Eye in 1986.  Jeanne earned her real estate license and later worked at Bic/Norwood as a tracker.  Jeanne was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sleepy Eye where she volunteered as a lector.  Jeanne’s mom, Gerry, was a generous helper with her grandchildren; staying with the family and helping Jeanne after their third child was born, caring for the children when Matt and Jeanne traveled, and traveled along with them on family trips.  Jeanne loved to travel.  They visited Disney World as a family.  Jeanne and Matt went to the South Pacific with “Big Jim” as their guide and visited South Korea, Bali Indonesia, Saipan, Tinian and Oahu.  There were family trips each summer to Jan and George’s cabin on Green Lake, trips to Matt’s parent’s home in Ireland, a few trips to London renting a flat for a week and meeting up with the family, to Menominee getting together with Gerry and Bill and Grandpa Stanley; and family trips to Radekville near Tomahawk.  Jeanne also enjoyed going to concerts and Twins baseball with her son Matt.

Jeanne is survived by her husband Matt of Sleepy Eye; their 3 children:  Matthew Vickery II, Kathleen (Tony) Hoerhann, and Melissa Louise Vickery; grandchildren:  Layla Rose and Maximus Hoerhann; mother Gerry Pelnar of Rochester; siblings; Barb (Mark) Pierce of Hopkins and James Williams of Penngrove, Ca; sister-in-law Laurie Williams of Rochester; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.  She is preceded in death by her father John “Jack” Williams and brother John “Jack” Williams Jr.
