Ryan Byers

Ryan David Byers, age 32, of Westbrook passed away unexpectedly on June 25, 2026 at Sanford Westbrook Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at the Westbrook Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ryan David Byers was born August 26, 1993, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Joel and Angela (Olsem) Byers. Ryan attended Westbrook-Walnut Grove High School and graduated in 2012. He then went on to attend Ridgewater College, where he earned his degree in Farm Management and graduated in 2014. Ryan enjoyed being outdoors, working on his vehicles, hunting, and spending time with his dog, Onyx. He worked at R & R Dairy from high school to the present. Ryan was a son, brother, uncle, nephew and friend. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.

Ryan is survived by his mother, Angela Byers; his father, Joel Byers (Anita Weber); his sister Alexa (Nathan) Remmers; his brother Mason Byers; his nephew Banks Remmers; his grandparents Gene and Carol Olsem and Betty Byers; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by a sister Jena Byers; uncle Scott Osland; aunt Jaime Byers; and grandfather Bob Byers.
