D'Ontrez Sullivan

D’Ontrez Jadrian Lonato Sullivan, also known as Wanbdi Wiyaka (Eagle Feather), age 25, of the Lower Sioux Community, Minnesota, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 30, 2026. Services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Cansayapi Rec Center, Lower Sioux, MN. Visitation will start at 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 3, and continue until the service at Cansayapi Rec Center. Interment will be in St. Cornelia’s Episcopal Cemetery. 

D’Ontrez Jadrian Lonato Sullivan was born October 3, 2000, to Dustin Sullivan Sr. and Josette (Rainey) Jones in Redwood Falls, MN. He was baptized at St. Cornelia’s Episcopal Church in 2000, and earned his Dakota name, Wanbdi Wiyaka (Eagle Feather) in Fall of 2025 with his brothers. In 2019, he earned his High School Diploma in Montevideo, MN. D’Ontrez loved going to his Grandma Mahony’s farm as a child. He and his siblings would play with the farm animals, which awoke his love for nature and animals. D’Ontrez’s favorite sport was hockey, his family watched him skate since he could walk. He was very proud participating in the 2016, 38+2 Dakota memorial run, a 71-mile relay from Ft. Snelling to Mankato. Everyone who knew D’Ontrez would recognize his loving, kind, and compassionate nature with strong family values and a tight circle of friends. He was so proud to be called uncle and had an overwhelming love for his nieces and nephew. D’Ontrez was dedicated to his community, spending countless hours helping through his work with LS Community Health Department, his caring nature, assisting anyone who asked, and recognizing people who needed an extra shoulder to lean on. Recently, D’Ontrez showed appreciation and dedication to his culture by working on speaking in his native Dakota Wicohan language. He had a love for music, concerts, and traveling with friends. D’Ontrez and his circle: John, Andre, Meech, Wakinyan, WinterHawk, Lewis, Derek, and Chris; would travel all over the country following the “Rolling Loud” festival and exploring the beautiful areas. His favorite destinations included Los Angeles, California and Denver, Colorado. D’Ontrez enjoyed playing video games and fishing, but above all else was his love for nature and family.

D’Ontrez Jadrian Lonato Sullivan is survived by his parents: Dustin Sullivan Sr. & Josette (step-father, Clifford) Jones; siblings: DJ (Alideth) Sullivan, Chaun (Belle) Jones, Ivan Jones, Juelz Thompson & Ricardo Sanchez; grandparents: Benjamin Pendleton & Dave and Deb Sullivan; nieces & nephew: Kamila, Jadrian, & Jazlynn Pendleton; aunts & uncles: Jonelle Rainey, Juliet Watterson, Troy (Krissy) Thompson & Marcus Garcia; godparents: Mike & Rebecca Lame Bull, Jane Anderson & Alan Pendleton Jr.; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded by his infant brother Damiyen Jolon Sullivan, grandmother Josephine Rainey, great-grandmothers Betty Mahony & Lucille Rainey, cousins: Cory Parkhurst, Evan Denny & LeRas Rainey, Aunty Brenda Pendleton, and uncles: Travis Thompson, Steven Rainey Sr., Chris & Jesse Sanders.
