Norman J. Ellingson, age 73 of Belview, passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Abbot Northwestern in Minneapolis of natural causes. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Belview. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 30 at Redwood Valley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Belview City Cemetery. Norman John Ellingson was born February 2, 1950 to Henry and Catherine (Boever) Ellingson in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. He attended Kindergarten through eighth grade at St. Anne’s Catholic School and continued his schooling at Wabasso High School. Norm drove truck for several area farmers before enlisting in the U.S. Army on March 26, 1969. He served in Germany, where he drove a mobile Nuclear Missile launcher truck. He received his honorable discharge on February 3, 1971 and returned to the Belview Area. On November 17, 1973, Norm married Lu-Ann Pederson at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Belview. The couple moved to the farm by Belview in 1978, where he resided ever since. Norm worked in carpentry for several years, before working at Zytec. He then drove truck for many years. Norm truly loved his farm, there he raised livestock and enjoyed gardening and mowing his lawn. He was a longtime member of the Belview American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and camping with family. Norm loved playing cards and spending time with his family. Norm is survived by his children: Christopher (Andrea) Ellingson of Chaska, Tom (Sandi) Ellingson of Belview, Tonya Ellingson of Granite Falls and Kiley (Travis) Jordet of Sacred Heart; grandchildren: Corin, Mitchell & Caden Ellingson, Kelsey (Trent) Merkins, Logan Haala & Jaxon Ellingson and Tegan & Addison Jordet; great grandson Everette Dean Merkins; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Cody Lee Ellingson, brothers Ron Stadick & Jim Ellingson and nephew Bob Stadick. |
