Amos Ashley Daniels was born October 10, 1932 in Shetek Township, Murray County, Minnesota to Azro “Bay” and Della Blanche (Greenman) Daniels. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1950 and then attended Mankato State University. Amos enlisted in the US Navy on June 27, 1952 and was honorably discharged on June 30, 1954. He was baptized on May 10, 1959 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. On May 20, 1961, Amos was united in marriage to Geraldine Leilani Acasio. Amos spent 64 years in the full-time ministry of Jehovah’s Witnesses. In 1963, it took him and Jeri to Spirit Lake, IA, and then in 1965 they attended a Bible School of Gilead in New York and graduated in 1966. Their missionary assignment was to Guam, Palau in the Western Caroline Islands. In 1979, for health reasons, they moved to Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii. While living on Maui, Amos managed a recording studio for George Benson. In 1992 they received a Spanish assignment, moving to Colorado to assist in the Spanish field. In 1998, they returned to Tracy. In all their travels, Amos helped many people to learn and understand the Bible and come to know the God of the Bible whose name is Jehovah. (Psalms 83:18) He and Geri consider these their “spiritual children”. He was an Elder, special and regular “pioneer” and missionary of Jehovah’s Witnesses. When he had free time, Amos enjoyed fishing. He will be remembered as a loving and kind person whose self-sacrificing and humble personality drew others to him.
Amos is survived by his wife Geraldine Leilani Daniels; and sister Betty Pool of Tracy. He is preceded in death by his parents Azro & Della Daniels, brothers: Andrew and Archer Daniels, sister Irene Bakker, half-sisters Evelyn Swanjord and Nellie Whiteside, half-brother Edward Daniels, nephew Todd Pool, and a niece in infancy (daughter of Irene Bakker).
