Patsy Evers

Patsy Evers, aka “The Bread Lady,” age 80 of Redwood Falls formerly of New Ulm, passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at her home, while surrounded by family. A private ceremony for immediate family will be held in the spring. Interment will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Redwood Falls Senior Center; 901 E. Cook St. Redwood Falls, MN, 56283. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Patsy Ann (Middleton) Evers was born October 3, 1944 to Alvin and Valeria (Albrecht) Middleton in Springfield, Minnesota. On September 2, 1961, at the age of 16, she married the love of her life, Thomas J. Evers, in New Ulm and they were blessed with four children. Patsy loved children and was a daycare provider for a number of years. She was a caregiver at heart and was a foster parent for numerous children. Proving old dogs can learn new tricks, she achieved her GED at 65 years old. Patsy left retirement to volunteer at the Redwood Falls Senior Center. She was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm and Redwood Falls. Her greatest fulfillment in life was giving back to the community and meeting new people. She volunteered for a plethora of places in the community including the food shelf, meals on wheels, and the Big Buddies mentor program. You could often find Patsy baking bread and delivering it all over town such as the Police Department, Fire Department, banks, Olson Chevrolet etc. In addition to baking, she enjoyed cleaning house, mowing lawn, and occasionally racing the lawn mower with the neighbor. Patsy loved spending time with family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

Patsy is survived by her children: Paul Evers Sr. of New Ulm, Scott Evers of Redwood Falls, Heidi (Jeremy) Wieland of Tallahassee, FL, Katie (Leisa) Evers of Redwood Falls; fluffy four-legged kids: Oliver & Charlie Evers; grandchildren: Paul (Caitlin Berg) Evers Jr. and Hailey & Padgett Wieland; great grandchildren: Willow Berg and Makenna & Payten Evers; brothers: Robert & Dennis Middleton both of Wisconsin. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Roger Middleton.
