Coralyn Ann (Wahl) Comnick was born August 14, 1935 to Carl and Anna (Mischke) Wahl in Slayton, Minnesota. She was baptized at Rosehill Emmanuel Lutheran Church near Westbrook on September 15, 1935 and then confirmed on April 10, 1949 at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Coralyn attended country school districts #56 and #48 in Rosehill Township and graduated from Westbrook High School on May 28, 1953. Following graduation, Coralyn began working as a secretary at Farmers Elevator in Westbrook until 1956. On September 8, 1956, at First Trinity Lutheran Church, Coralyn married her high school sweetheart, Ronald Comnick, following his two-year military service. Ronald resumed his farming responsibilities, and the couple made their home in Section #4 Rosehill Township, rural Westbrook. To this Union, two sons, Steven and Randall, were welcomed into their family. Coralyn enjoyed and loved the farm life with her family for many years. She loved caring for her grandchildren and her neighbors’ children. She was especially happy to have the opportunity of being a great grandma. The verse Proverbs 17:6 provided a meaning Coralyn held close to her heart. Her interpretation was “God created grandmas so each could share a part of the care and kindness, with in His Loving Heart. My grandchildren are my crown.” Coralyn was very active in her church and felt it was a blessing to teach and work with children in Sunday School, VBS, Christmas Programs and Jr. Choir. One of her passions was music; she enjoyed Sr. Choir and many holiday cantatas. She especially enjoyed singing trio music with her two cousins, Jeannine and Carol, at several churches and at different community events. Coralyn also belonged to WELCA and multiple bible study groups. She provided home communion and prayer chains for people in the community. Coralyn loved quilting, scrapbooking, baking and decorating cakes. You could often find her in her garden or enjoying her flowers, especially the dandelion bouquets her grandkids would gather for her.

Left to cherish all the memories are her children & their families: son Steve (Priscilla) and their family Mitchell, Jacob (Julia), Myah & Raelyn, son Randall (Jann) and their family Stephanie (Joe) Doubler, Ben & Sophia Doubler, Mason (Megan), Leo & Graham Comnick, and Dayna Comnick and her fiancé Sam Carlson; three sisters-in-law: Leora Hass, Myrna Carlson and Annette (Leon) Mischke; Larson Family: Angie, Eric, Anna & Ethan; and a host of relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl & Anna, husband, Ronald (2004), infant brother, Leon, parents-in-law, Albert & Anna, and sisters and brothers-in-law: Vernice (Rueben) Gerner, Eunice (Bill) Erpestad, Erwin Comnick, Clarence Hass and Quentin Carlson.
