Brian David Pabst, age 80 of Sanborn, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at his home. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sanborn. Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, September 15 at the church. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Private family interment will be held in the Sanborn Cemetery at a later date. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Brian David Pabst was born September 1, 1945 to Albert and Esther (Houseman) Pabst in Marshall, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Sanborn. In 1963, Brian graduated from Sanborn High School and continued his education at Bethany Lutheran College, where he met the love of his life, Cheryl Egenes. On June 17, 1965, Brian and Cheryl were united in marriage at Amo Lutheran Church in Storden and to this union three children were born, Troy, Kimberly and David. Brian began farming with his family at a young age and for 35 years was a rural mail carrier until his retirement in 2004. For many years Brian was a member of the Sanborn Fire Department and participated on the Zion Lutheran Church Council. He enjoyed playing softball, golfing and the local pool league. Brian loved the outdoors especially when he would go hunting and fishing. Brian is survived by his children: Troy (special friend Lori), Kimberly (Paul) Parsons both of Sanborn and David (fiancée Jessica) of Springfield; grandchildren: Lacy, Shala, Brandon, Brady, Jesse, Krystal, Reed, Avoree, Brenna and Marissa; 11 great grandchildren; siblings: Miles (Sharon) Pabst of Norman, OK, Ralph (Karen) Pabst, Roxanna (Ed) Cohrs both of Sanborn and Pauline (Shawn) Wohnoutka of Morgan; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Cheryl and sister-in-law Sandra. | |
