They spent their married life in Redwood Falls. In 1985, Linda graduated from Willmar Technical College, earning a degree as a Certified Medial Assistant. She worked at Affiliated Community Medical Centers, now known as Carris Health, retiring after 29 years of service. Linda was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, where she served many years on several committees and council, and as a Sunday school and Bible School teacher. She also played for the Celebration Ringers Bell Choir, serving as its director for ten years before retiring. Linda most recently belonged to the Mission Quilters and Ruth Circle. She loved playing bridge with her bridge buddies, enjoyed being a member of Memories in Motion Redwood Area Car Club, and especially taking cruises and trips with the Cruisin Corvetters. Linda and Kevin took many trips, short jaunts and vacations together, and have some good stories to tell. Linda’s greatest joys were her two grandchildren, Evelyn and Isaac. They were her bright hope for tomorrow. Evelynn, I love you to the moon and back, and Isaac, I love you more than all the stars in the sky. Linda is survived by her husband Kevin; son Stephen Hollatz of Bloomington; daughter Bethany Hollatz of Apple Valley; grandchildren: Evie & Isaac Hollatz; brother, Jeffrey (Marvella) Blome of Thompson, IA; sisters: Julie Quebe of Cedar Rapids, IA and Jill (David) Smith of Maricopa, AZ; sister-in-law Debra Herberg of Edina; and nieces and nephews: Marnie (Shawn) Maki, Tiffany (Nick) Olson, Ryan (special friend Katie Swanson) Blome, Keely (Seth) Heitland, and Jerek (special friend Kiara Hacker) Strouf. Linda had been battling Metastatic Renal Cell Carcinoma since May of 2012 and asks that memorials be given to Redwood County Relay for Life or the Celebration Ringers of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Linda was so humbled and amazed by the kindnesses shown to her and Kevin by her church family and community during her illness. She appreciated the texts, phone calls, visits, cards, flowers, help with cleaning her home, the hair care, and the amazing food. A thank you will never be enough to ever express what she felt. She also appreciated the services provided by Adult Day Services and Carris Hospice in Redwood Falls. |
