Betty Ann Natterstad, age 94 of Westbrook, passed away December 12, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Society in Westbrook. Visitation will be open to the public 10am Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Private family funeral will be held at 11am on Thursday with a Facebook Live Feed at Stephens Funeral Service Facebook Page. Interment will be held in the Emanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rose Hill Township. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, GUESTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A MASK and practice social distancing guidelines. A 50% indoor occupancy restriction will be maintained. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements Betty was born in Dovray Township, Minnesota on February 5, 1926 to Hans Bendix and Marie (Cohrs) Assmussen. She was baptized in infancy and later confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Dovray. On September 6, 1944, she was united in marriage to Robert Hass. They farmed in Rosehill Township, Minnesota until his death on December 12, 1971. On January 10, 1977, she was united in marriage to Mandel Natterstad at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He died on December 27, 1998. She lived on the farm from 1948 to June 1, 2004, when she moved to an apartment in Westbrook. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. Betty was crowned “Poppy Queen” by the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed visiting with friends, fishing, traveling, and the great outdoors. Betty would like to be remembered by all the good times she had with friends and family and was very grateful for all of the friendship and support shown to her throughout the years. Betty is survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands; parents; brothers, Ernest and Hans; and sisters, Christine, Caroline, and Luella. |
