Orlo F. Kruse…75 of Canby died Thursday, February 4, 2010 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler of congestive heart failure.

Funeral Services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Ruthton at 2:00p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010.  Burial in the Ruthton Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 5-8p.m. on Monday at the Tyler Area Funeral Home with a 7p.m. prayer service.  The Tyler Area Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.  Condolences may be sent via www.tylerareafuneralhome.com

Orlo F. Kruse was born March 30, 1934 in Boyden, Iowa to William and Sophia (Woelber) Kruse.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  The family moved to Minnesota in the fall of 1939.  He moved to California in 1953 and was drafted into the U.S. Army and stationed in Japan.  He returned to California and worked at Douglas Aircraft, North American Aircraft and Thrifty Drug.  In 1976 Orlo moved to Canby, Minnesota and worked at Super Valu, retiring in 2008 due to health issues.  He was admitted to the Sanford Canby Medical Center on January 14, 2010 for a week, then moved to Sunrise Manor for rehabilitation.  He returned to his home in Canby until Feb. 3, when he was re-admitted to Sunrise Manor where he died on February 4th.

Orlo was a member of the Ruthton Lions Club and Ruthton American Legion.  He had a love of people, a gift of visiting with anyone and liked to fish. Everywhere he went he gave joy.

He is survived by special friend Lorraine Jerzak of Canby; his siblings Marlene Hartson of Tyler, Anita Vespa of Petaluma, CA, Lucille George of Huntington Beach, CA and Linda (Dennis) Petersen of Huntington Beach, CA;  and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding him in death are his parents, siblings Willis Kruse, Anna Mae (Raymond) Christensen, Dorene (Buddy) Nielsen; brothers-in-law Richard Hartson and Troy George; nephews Anthony Vespa, Dale Christensen, Jeffrey Nielsen and Dana George; and great niece Brooklyn Sumerfelt Kruse.
