Lawrence “Jack” Schueller

Lawrence “Jack” William Schueller age 70 of Tyler, formerly of Seaforth, passed away Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Tyler Health Care Center.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Dionysius Catholic Church in Tyler.  Visitation will be held from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. Tuesday AT THE CHURCH with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services on Wednesday.  Interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Seaforth.  Memorials to the Lymphoma Society or the American Heart Association are preferred in lieu of flowers.  The Tyler Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lawrence “Jack” William Schueller was born July 28, 1939 in Seaforth, MN to John F.A. and Elizabeth (Bernardy) Schueller.  He was baptized, received his first communion, and was confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth.  Jack attended Seaforth Elementary School and graduated in 1957 from St. Anne’s High School in Wabasso.  Jack then entered the US Navy in July 1957 where he served with the “Seabees”.  He received his honorable discharge in July 1960 and returned to Seaforth.  On April 18, 1959, Jack was united in marriage to Margaret Guetter in Wabasso.  Jack worked for Sid Hagen in road maintenance for 17 years, then for Tyler Wholesale until he retired in 2007.  He was a member of St. Dionysius Catholic Church where he worked part time caring for the cemetery and church lawns.  He was very active in church serving as lector, song leader and on the parish council.  He also presided at prayer services.  He was a member of the 3rd and 4th Degree Knights of Columbus where he served as Grand Knight, financial secretary, and secretary.  Jack also served on the town councils in Seaforth and Tyler.  He loved sports, especially watching his children and grandchildren.  He also enjoyed watching the Vikings and Twins or any football games.  Jack especially loved taking his annual camping trip with his sons, sons in law, and grandsons.  Jack loved life and lived life to the fullest.  Each day was always a blessing to him and complaining was a waste of energy.  It was easier to make people laugh.  His favorite evening of entertainment was when he had the opportunity to Emcee at the KC Annual Supper which he looked forward to every year.  Family was always at the top of his list and his faith in God was his number one priority.

Jack is survived by his wife Margaret; children: Jean of Marshall, Julie (Rich) Brewers of St. Michael, Bill (Joyce) of Fergus Falls, Steve (Chris) of St. Cloud, JoAnn (David) Blomme of Montevideo, Rick (Stacy) of Willmar and Bob (Joan) of Browerville; grandchildren: Mathias, Ellie, Noah & Amelia Brewers, Thomas & Adam Schueller, Andy & Hope Schueller, Ross, Tyler & Jaclyn Blomme, Aaron & Patrick Schueller, Jake, Brittney & John Schueller, and step grandsons: Austen, Trenten and Jackson Wollenburg; siblings: Rose (Bud) Van Hecke of Seaforth, Magdalen (Eugene) Bergstrom of Marshall, and Marcella (Lee) Wilhelmi of Morgan; sisters in law: Lucille Schueller of Norwood Young America & Dolly Perrizo of Redwood Falls and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Joy Schueller and brothers Leo, Sylvester and Richard.
