Einer “Cactus” Dumos
Einer G. “Cactus” Dumos, age 83, of Westbrook passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Westbrook Funeral Home.
Visitation is Friday from noon until time of services at the funeral home. Interment is in Our Savior’s Lutheran Cemetery in Dovray. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Cactus Dumos was born March 8, 1928 on the family farm in Des Moines River Township to Olwar and Alma (Johnson) Dumos. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray. Cactus worked for a short time in Washington and California before returning to the Westbrook area. He worked for Jasper Hovde, Dovray Grain, Toro, and was a janitor at the Westbrook school. Cactus also worked for Delbert Jensen on and off for 50 years. He enjoyed bowling, horses, gardening and flowers. Cactus liked visiting with his many family members and friends in the area. He was always active and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
Cactus is survived by his brother-in-law Derald Weinberg of Tracy; many nieces and nephews; special friends of many years the Delbert and Betty Jensen family; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Ruby White, Vivian Berg, Mildred Weinberg, Floyd Dumos, Fern Zens, Gale Dumos, and Shirley LaBore.
