Margaret Moseng

Margaret L. Moseng age 53 of Redwood Falls passed away following a lengthy illness Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 25 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.  A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Margaret Louise Moseng was born July 14, 1958 in Glenwood, MN to Leslie and Lucille (Michaels) Getchell.  She graduated from Glenwood High School and attended Granite Falls Vo-Tech for two years.  On July 17, 1976 she was united in marriage to Harvey Moseng at her father’s farm near Glenwood.  Margaret was a night auditor at Jackpot Junction Hotel for the last 10 years.  She was very involved with High School Rodeo for seven years.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids who called her “Nama.”  Margaret loved her horses.  She loved sparking up debates, and wouldn’t quit until she won.  Margaret was a very stubborn woman; this quality undoubtedly helped her defeat lung cancer after a 5 month battle.  The remaining effects from the disease caused further problems which proved to be more than her body could handle, and Margaret passed away on May 19, 2012.

Margaret is survived by her husband Harvey; children Harvey Jr. (Kim) Moseng of Wood Lake and Laura (Cory) Guetter of Belview; grandchildren: Jesse Moseng, Owen and Abby Moseng, Bella and Wyatt Guetter; sister Kay Nelson of Thief River Falls; and Helen and Travis Cable.  She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Kenneth Getchell.
