Arlene Buchert age 96 of Aitkin, formerly of Tyler, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013 at Aicota Health Care Center in Aitkin.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 10 at Grace First Parish in Russell, with Pastor Bruce Drackley officiating.

Arlene Elizabeth Buchert was born September 20, 1916 to Samuel and Marie (Balle) McDaniel in Island Lake Township, Lyon County, Minnesota. Arlene was united in marriage to Everett Buchert on February 8, 1939 in the Presbyterian parsonage in Marshall. They settled in Island Lake Township, then Coon Creek Township near Russell, where they farmed for 32 years. In 1973, they sold their farm and moved to Tyler where they purchased a home. In 1995, they moved to an apartment in Tyler. Arlene was a member of the Russell Presbyterian Church and P.W.A. In 2007, she moved to Aitkin, Minnesota. She enjoyed making afghans, sewing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Arlene is survived by two sons; David (Aloha) Buchert of Aitkin, MN and Lyall (Marlene) Buchert of Deer River, MN; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Arnold McDaniel of Tracy, MN; and sister Shirley Whitlock of Upland, CA. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers Eldon, Irvin, Lowell, and Marion; two half brothers Adrian and Orville; 2 sisters Alice and Yvonne; 2 half sisters Beatrice and Cleon.
