Constance R. Becker
Constance R. Becker age 85 of Westbrook passed away on Friday, February 19, 2010 at Lakeridge Care Center in Buffalo. Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. The Westbrook Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
Constance Rhea Roemer Becker was born November 17, 1924 to Ralph Roemer and Lillian Behrends Roemer of Jeffers. She attended schools in Jeffers and Windom. On September 16, 1941 Connie was united in marriage to Leland Charles Grantz. To this union three children were born: Richard Leland, Judith Elaine, and Kathleen Anne Grantz. In 1975 she was united in marriage to Ben Becker. At the age of 42, Connie suffered a severe stroke, which she successfully overcame. Her rehabilitation led her to Mankato State College, graduating with honors in 1975. She went on to teach Special Education in the Ogilvie and Westbrook, Minnesota Public School systems. Upon retirement she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Connie is survived by her daughters Judy (Bill) Eitzen of Boulder, Colorado and Kathy Donnelly of Otsego; her daughter-in-law Marilyn Grantz Muckenhirn of Maple Lake; grandchildren Kevin Grantz of Monticello, Cindy Grantz of Clearlake, Tyson (Marne) Donnelly of Rogers, Leah Constance Donnelly of Minneapolis, and Jani Kathleen Grantz of St. Paul; six great grandchildren; brothers Jerry (Marilyn) Roemer of Deming, New Mexico and Tom (Nancy) Roemer of Jacksonville, Florida; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Leland Grantz and Ben Becker, son Richard, great granddaughter Alyssa, sisters Shirley Gravley, Verna Nerem, Janice Raverty Mason; and brothers Lyle Roemer, Lloyd Roemer, Gordon Roemer, and Gilford Roemer. |
