Bernice McColgen age 85 of the Lower Sioux Community and Santee Sioux Tribe returned to the Creator Sunday, May 5, 2013 at her home surrounded by family and friends.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Lower Sioux Church Hall.

Visitation is one hour prior to services at the hall. Interment is in St. Cornelia’s Episcopal Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Bernice was born October 21, 1927 in Niobrara, Nebraska to Mabel Bill. She moved to the Lower Sioux Community in 1993. Bernice enjoyed playing Bingo and following the Minnesota sports teams.

Bernice is survived by her grandchildren Tyler and Zak Pendleton; cousins: Tom Columbus family and Joan Pendleton family; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, and sister Blanche.
