Cathey Jo Rettey age 66 of Garvin, formerly of Long Beach, CA, passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.  Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Area Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Stephens Funeral Service – Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Cathey was born in Lawrence, KS to Donald & Winona (Wonnell) Miller.  As a young child, she moved with her family to Long Beach California.  There she graduated from Jorden High School, where she was best known as a spunky cheerleader.  Cathey was an optimistic, energetic, fun loving, caring person with strong family values.  She enjoyed the simple things in life, always giving her best and respecting others.  Cathey married Thomas McCaig and had two children.  Later she met and was remarried to Mark Rettey on September 21, 1988 in Riverside, CA.  Mark was from St. Cloud along with his two children.  Together they formed their new family.  Shortly after they were married, they moved to Minnesota to enjoy their lives together.  Cathey worked as manager and sales clerk.  She always enjoyed meeting new people and was respected by many for her friendly, outgoing personality.  She enjoyed motorcycling, bargain shopping & antiquing, and gardening.

Cathey is survived by her husband Mark of 30 years; children: Crystal Ann Nelson of Tracy, Kenneth Lee McCaig of Tracy, Alicia Ann Rettey of Tracy and Markelle Marie Rettey of Sacred Heart; grandchildren Dakota Lee Rettey & Aliyah Jo McCaig and many other relatives and friends.  She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Linda Abbas.
