Daniel “Dan” John Schwerin was born October 20, 1950 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to John and Rosetta (Hertling) Schwerin. He graduated from Redwood Falls High School, and later studied agriculture at Willmar Vo-Tech and farmed with his dad for a period of time. On June 5, 1971, Dan was united in marriage to Sandy Rohde at the United Methodist Church in Fairfax, Minnesota. Dan worked at Morton Buildings for nearly 30 years. He later worked at Morgan’s Super Valu, and was presently employed at Transystems as a truck driver and trainer. Dan was an avid outdoorsman; he loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He spent countless hours outside tending to his vegetable gardens, and he loved watching the Twins and Vikings. Dan loved being with his family, and would often be found playing cards, or on the floor wrestling with the grandkids.
Dan is survived by his wife Sandy of 45 years; sons: Jason (Melonie) Allyn-Schwerin of Cottage Grove, Paul (Sara) Schwerin of Cedar Rapids, IA, Michael (Brittany) Schwerin of Wylie, TX, Dale (Kim Kayser) Schwerin of Sioux Falls, SD; grandchildren: Andrea Allyn-Schwerin, Jayson, Chloe, Ayla, and Aniah Schwerin, Rosalyn Schwerin, and Kaden Schwerin; numerous foster grandchildren; and sister Judy (Joe) Dollerschell of Olivia. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister-in-law Barb Rohde.
My condolences to Sandy and to the whole Schwerin family. Dan was a great man and will be truly missed. I spent 6 years working with Dan at Transystems and enjoyed every minute of it. He always had a great attitude and would do anything to help anybody out. May God be with you all during this difficult time.

Randy and I are so very sorry for your loss. Many prayers and hugs to everyone.
We are very sorry to hear of your loss. I have had the pleasure of working along side of Dan for the past 5 years. As his supervisor, I truly enjoyed our many conversations whether in the office or on check ride late in the evening. Dan was also a member of our Safety Committee and showed a great deal of compassion towards his coworkers and those he shared the road with. RIP Dan, you will be missed.
