Darold D. Goettig age 80 of Tracy passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Slayton.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16 at the Tracy Area Funeral Home.

Darold D. Goettig was born August 23, 1932 to John & Marie (Brown) Goettig. He graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1951. Darold enlisted in the US Navy where he worked as a clerk during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, Darold returned to the Walnut Grove area where he worked for area farmers. On November 15, 1957, Darold was united in marriage to Rose Hoffman at the Tracy Lutheran Church. Together the couple lived in Marshall while Darold worked for Rehkamp Furniture and later at Schwans Food. They then moved to the St. Peter area where Darold worked for the State Hospital. They then moved to Tracy and Darold worked for the State of Minnesota until his retirement. Darold was a member of the Tracy American Legion. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and watching NCIS. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Darold is survived by his wife Rose of 55 years; children: Lonnie (Cindy) Goettig of Marshall, Jeff (Teresa) Goettig of Currie, Kelly Goettig (Mike Rogers) of Luverne & Darrin (Sara) Goettig of Tracy; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother Arnold (Joan) Goettig of Marshall and many other relatives and friends. Preceding him in death are his parents, two sons, and five brothers.
