Dennis J. Sussner, age 63 of Redwood Falls, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 16 at Middle Creek United Methodist Church in Flora Township. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at Redwood Valley Funeral Home. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Tuesday. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dennis John Sussner was born March 31, 1955 to John and Barbara (Kronabetter) Sussner in Clarkfield, Minnesota. He was baptized at St. Leo Catholic Church and confirmed St. Matthews Catholic Church in St. Paul. Dennis attended Roosevelt elementary, St. Matthews Catholic School and graduated from Humboldt High School in St. Paul. At a very young age, Dennis started a paper route in St. Paul with his siblings. He did various jobs until he entered the Marine Corps. Dennis was a Corporal in the US Marine Corps from 1977-1983 and worked as a small diesel mechanic. After the service, he owned his own welding shop until he became a truck driver. He drove truck for Cliff Viessman Inc., Central Bi Products and lastly Brown Wilbert Burial Vault Company. On September 5, 1987, Dennis married Nancy Ann Dunteman in Tracy. They lived in Vesta for one year until moving to the farm by Redwood Falls where they raised three children. The couple also raised many different kinds of poultry and livestock on their farm. Dennis was a member of Middle Creek United Methodist Church and involved in many committees. He loved watching birds. Dennis took pride in his tractor tire garden and keeping his lawn mowed. He grew many vegetables and flowers. He was a loving husband and father. Dennis enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
Dennis is survived by his wife Nancy of 31 years; children: Adam (Brandy) Sussner of Morton, Samantha Sussner of Redwood Falls, and Kevin Sussner of Redwood Falls; grandchildren: Eli and Cora; siblings: Gerry (Rosaura) Sussner, Sandy (Brian) Olson, Julie (Lyle) Rust, and Barb Sussner (friend Tom); and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents John and Barbara.

Nancy sorry for your loss. Dennis was such a caring and loving person and always had such a big smile on his face. I loved hanging out with him when he had his welding shop in Taunton. He will be deeply missed by many.
