He and his brother raised registered Hampshire hogs for 44 years. They also fed 350 cattle each year.  Sometime in the 70’s they sold two loads of cattle at Sioux City, Iowa for $57.00, which was the highest price in the USA that day. He bought a mare and raised several foals to sell. Donald’s favorite TV shows were Chuck Pasek and John Deere Bandwagon. Cattle and farming were the love of his life. In October 2005, Donald entered Prairie View Healthcare Center where he has resided since.

Donald is survived by his sister Florence Nuese of Marshall, brother Harold (Joyce) Cooper of rural Tracy, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Ruby Cooper, brother Henry Cooper, and nephews Bruce Cooper in 1963 and Allen Cooper in 2010.
