Donald W. Knutson age 68 of Redwood Falls passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at the Redwood Area Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 31 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home.

Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial is in Union State Line Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Donald Wayne Knutson was born September 10, 1944 in Estherville, Iowa to Alvin and Sylvia (Synstelien) Knutson. He and his four brothers grew up on a farm outside of Jackson, MN. Donald attended Hastings State School and school in Cambridge. He lived on a farm by Willmar for 18 years before moving to Redwood Falls in 1991. Donald began working for Service Enterprises in December, 1991. He worked at recycling and then moved to the main building. Donald retired from SEI in December, 2009. He enjoyed a quiet retirement. Donald’s favorite things were looking out the window, watching the birds, and just watching the world go by.

Donald is survived by his brothers: Alden “Ed” of Jackson, Robert (Van) of Mondovi, WI, Harold (Marilyn) of Petersburg, and Philip (Cora) of Andover; nieces and nephews: Troy and Tammy, Nathan and Christina, Kyle, Leah, and Kelsey; longtime friends Kathleen, Diane, and Mary Ann; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and special friend Gloria Hutchinson.
