Sylvia Dressen
Sylvia Dressen, age 83, of Redwood Falls passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at the Redwood Area Hospital after an extended illness.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Redwood Falls. Visitation is 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church.
Private family burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Redwood Area Hospice and the American Cancer Society. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Sylvia Dressen was born March 28, 1928 in Lamberton to Arthur and Jeanette (DeCourcey) Christensen. She graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1947. Sylvia worked in Redwood Falls after her schooling. On August 6, 1956 she was united in marriage to Eugene Dressen in Redwood Falls. Together the couple lived in Redwood Falls their entire lives. Sylvia worked at Aune and Thune for many years, and later worked at Kaardal Insurance from where she retired in the early ‘90s. This last June the couple moved to Garnette Gardens. Sylvia enjoyed watching the Minnesota Twins, traveling, and going to the lake in the summer. She loved spending time with her family and following her children’s activities.
Sylvia is survived by her husband Eugene of 55 years; children: Cheri Michaud of White Bear Lake, Mark (Brenda) Dressen of Redwood Falls, and Bruce (Molly) Dressen of Minneapolis; grandchildren: Aaron (Nicole) Michaud, Jenna and Thomas Michaud, Francis and Lucy Dressen; great grandchildren: Maria and Danny Graefe, and Tyler Michaud; sister Marion (Hadie) Cuff of Austin; sister-in-law Bea Christensen of Redwood Falls; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Dwayne Christensen.
