Ed was the most popular person I ever knew due to his humble, kind and engaging personality who with great charismatic charm lifted everyone’s spirits “when Ed stepped in the door” !!! What a great honor to have known him!!! Ed rest in Heavenly Peace!!!
Very sorry to hear about Ed’s passing. We spent some enjoyable times together on the golf course and solved many of the world’s problems after the round, at least we thought we did! The regular foresome, Robby, Dick, Con, Ed are certainly now playing together again in Heaven! My condolences to the family, and Ed rest in peace.

No real perfect words to express ones feelings, but Jan and family you need to know that Mari and I and your many many friends have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. We hope and pray that this will provide you some comfort as you travel this difficult journey. Eddie was a dearest friend and a great golf partner. We had lots of fun memories and we will miss him. But some day , Eddie and me will meet together again on the First Tee.
God bless us all. Tom and Mari
Eddie McFarlane was a wonderful Dad, he Blessed us with a wonderful family and childhood. Dad was always involved in our lives, either coaching our sports, taking us on family vacations, always joking and laughing, teaching us, loving us unconditionally. We were Blessed to have a father who cared for us deeply, helped us when we needed help, let us cry on his shoulder or we cried together during both ours and his difficult times. Dad was always there for us girls. We know he is with our family, his parents and sister, and some of his many great friends up in Heaven. Dad loved his friends as well, he had good friends and many good times. No more pain or suffering! We love our Dad and miss him so much already.
Denise You summed up your Dad and my best friend in a very loving and thankful manner. You three daughters were very fortunate to enjoy his love and care until God took him at age 81 My fiend Ed is still providing his loving care for his daughters. Again, thank you for the very thoughtful and beautiful reflection about a wonderful man. Jim
Jim you were a great friend of Dad’s, he loved you very much! Right before Dad passed he was telling me that you were his best friend. He always talked about how blessed he was to have such amazing friends in his life. I love to hear about his childhood memories, which you were a big part of. He is laughing with his other good friend, Bob Gempler up in Heaven!
Hi Jan and family,
I just read of Eddie’s passing in the Headlight. So sorry. It is such a loss. I remember you and Eddie coming to our house after golfing events and I always felt he was such a kind and happy man. He always had a smile and a genuine laugh.
I remember when Robby passed away, we had a bat in our house, Eddie came over and caught it. He had to grab at it a few times because we were all crying and he was having trouble seeing the it. We all shared a much needed laugh!
I choose to believe Eddie, Robby, Con and Dick M. are golfing together again!
We share your loss but are also fortunate to have had Eddie in our lives.
Take care,
Carol Schjei
(Marge and Doc Robby’s daughter)
