Eleanor Ruth (Smith) Quincey was born July 9, 1929 to Ammon and Augusta Smith at White, South Dakota. She attended rural White, South Dakota School District No. 103 and graduated from White High School in 1947. Eleanor attended Summer School at General Beadle Teachers College and taught in Rural School District No. 105 that year. She married the love of her life, William “Bill” F. Quincey, the following year on February 21, 1948. They lived in White for the first few years of their marriage, then in Elkton, Pierre, and Aberdeen, South Dakota. The couple moved to Westbrook, Minnesota in 1976 when Bill became the school superintendent and lived there ever since. Eleanor worked part-time during most of their married life, and took great joy in working with others. She worked at Lichty Drug in Westbrook for 20 years before retiring in 1999. Eleanor was baptized and was a member of the Methodist Church. In recent years, she was welcomed and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Eleanor enjoyed music (loved playing the piano), flowers and gardening, yard work, crocheting, reading, and simply being with family and friends.
Eleanor is survived by her two sons James and Robin (and his wife Ruby), and grandchildren Nicholas William and Alexandra Jean Quincey. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, two of their four children: daughter Jeanne and son William G., and brothers Marvin and Harlan. She will be missed sorely, but was welcomed in the Kingdom of God on her 68th wedding anniversary to Bill.
Rob and Ruby and family, We are thinking of you at this time. May Gods peace and love be with you… Sorry for your loss

We are sorry for your loss. Thinking of you.

Our sympathy to Eleanor’s family. She was a good friend, and we enjoyed her, at Lichty’s, and at Trinity. She always made sure to say hi. We also enjoyed her at the Good Sam, where I did her nails, as long as she let me. She was one that I missed when I could no longer go down. When our daughter, Tammy died, we created a scholarship in her memory, and will remember our friend Eleanor at Christmas time. God bless her memory, with love. from Roger and Carolyn
Sorry for your loss, 1 Corinthians 15:26 assures us that death will be brought to nothing. What a wonderful blessing to look forward to.
Hope this thought brings comfort to the family.
Eleanor was a wonderful person who enriched the lives of all she knew. I remember her pleasant personality when she was an employee at Lichty Drug. She has been without her husband for several years now. I am glad they are now reunited. May God bless all of you as you cherish memories of your mom and grandmother. Sincerely, Eunice Christensen
I wish to share my deepest condolences. It is not easy to lose a loved one, but to know that stands with Bill before the Lord may lessen the grief you face. God bless. I will say a prayer for those who survive her. In friendship, Vern Bass
