Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 17th at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.

Visitation will be held 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday.  Interment is in St. Catherine’s Catholic Cemetery in Redwood Falls.  The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

Guy Evans was born July 23, 1949 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota, the 7th of 13 children to Otis and Anna (Jenniges) Evans.  He was baptized at St. Mathias Catholic Church in Wanda and confirmed at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.  He attended school in Redwood Falls, graduating from Redwood Falls High School in 1968.  He served in the US Navy from December 2, 1968 to December 1, 1972.  He was united in marriage to Linda Larsen on May 1st, 1976 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Redwood Falls.  Guy worked at Northwest Drywall for 34 years.  He was always a hard worker; helping family and friends whenever they needed something.  Guy’s family was very important to him, and he loved family gatherings.  He loved little kids, especially his grandsons, nieces, and nephews, and was always giving someone a hard time.  Guy had a sense of humor about everything.  He and Linda enjoyed traveling; going to Gettysburg and the Black Hills were two of his favorite vacations.  Guy was a Minnesota Twins Fan, and loved to follow their games.  He enjoyed shaking dice with his mother and his grandsons, and played a lot of electronic handheld Poker and Yahtzee.  He was a longtime member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and served on the Social Concerns Committee.  He was a past member of the Redwood Falls American Legion, and served for 9 years on the Redwood Falls Fire Department.

Guy is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Evans of Redwood Falls; son Tony (Hilary) Evans of Redwood Falls; 3 grandsons: Jake, Bo, and Lane; siblings: Denise Richter of New Ulm, MN, Damian (Susan) Evans of Washington State, Melanie (Tom) Ochs of Redwood Falls, Dan (Linda) Evans of Wyoming, MN, Andrea (George) Miller of Valley City, ND, Tom Evans of Redwood Falls, Kevin (Cathy) Evans of CA, Margot (Neil) Speiss of Forest Lake, MN, Ruth Ann Otto of Willmar, MN, Janet (Scott) Scharlemann of Redwood Falls, Judy Hart of Antioch, CA, Ann Evans of Redwood Falls; many nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents; nephews Peter and Jude Miller; niece Cathy Ochs; and brothers-in-law Dan Hart and Craig Richter.
