Francis J. Seikora age 78 of Wabasso passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls. Memorial Services will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, February 8 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso, with visitation 4:00-7:00 p.m. also at the church. Burial will be held at a later date. Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Francis Joseph Seikora was born October 17, 1935 in Redwood Falls, Minnesota to Frank and Elizabeth (Bierl) Seikora. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith, and attended St. Anne’s Catholic School in Wabasso. On July 18, 1959, Francis was united in marriage to Audrey Rakke at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Washington state where Francis was stationed with the U.S. Army. Francis received his honorable discharge on December 31, 1963, and together the couple moved back to the Wabasso area where they farmed. For over 25 years, Francis worked for Johanneck Rockway. His greatest passion was running the drag line there. Francis enjoyed baking bread and would often send a loaf home with his children after they visited. He loved mowing lawn, and mowed lawn for many other people as well. Francis enjoyed watching Western movies and spending time with his family. He loved to spoil his dog, Foxy.
Francis is survived by his children: Pamela Holmes of Wabasso, Gail (Jim) Seikora-Hanson of Redwood Falls, Renee (Mark) Junker of Redwood Falls, Frank (Jenny) Seikora of Lamberton, Michelle (Darris) Dehncke of Franklin, Terry (Jason) Idso of Litchfield, and Carrie (Jeremy) Schulte of Wabasso; 25 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters: Flavia Franta of Wabasso and Loyola Seikora of Redwood Falls; his beloved dog Foxy; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Audrey, daughter Sharon Garcia, and infant son Michael.
