Lorraine Glatz, age 73 of Franklin passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Franklin after a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 2 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Franklin.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lorraine Glatz was born June 7, 1937 in Madelia, Minnesota to Donald and Katherine (Simonett) Chatleain.  She graduated from Franklin High School.  On April 23, 1962, Lorraine was united in marriage to Edward Glatz in Franklin, Minnesota.  The couple moved to Luverne, Minnesota where they lived for eight years.  Later, Lorraine and Edward moved to an acreage near Ellsworth, Minnesota where they raised AKC dogs.  They eventually moved to a residence near Russell, Minnesota, all the while raising six children.  Lorraine enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels to the residents of Franklin, and loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She spent a lot of her time fishing, camping, quilting and crocheting.

Lorraine is survived by her daughter Deb (Loren) Swenson of Granite Falls and their children: Victoria, Whitney, and Emily, daughter Avis (Jody) Betz of Sioux Falls, SD, son Edward Glatz, Jr. (special friend Pamela) of Knoxville, TN and their children Marissa, Caleb, and Makala, daughter Pam (Andy) Iverson of Granite Falls and their children Christopher, Kody, Lyndsay, and Ashley,  son Michael (Jamie) Glatz of Trosky, MN and their children Brett, Chelesy, Kalidaya, and Grace, son Jamie Glatz of Westbrook; and great-grandson Taten (son of Christopher).  Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, sister Phyllis Grow, and brother Joe Chatleain.
