Glen D. Hoffman age 91 of Redwood Falls passed away Monday, December 21, 2015 at Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, December 26 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wabasso. Visitation is one hour prior to services at the church. Lunch will be served immediately after the service. Burial is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent at www.stephensfuneralservice.com. Glen Donald Hoffman was born June 23, 1924 in Willow Lake Township, Redwood County, Minnesota to Herman and Hattie (Luescher) Hoffman. He was baptized July 20, 1924 at Christ Lutheran Church in Wanda and confirmed May 12, 1940 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Wabasso. Glen attended District 94 country school. He enlisted in the US Army August 30, 1944 and served in the European Theater in battles in Germany and France where he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant. He was honorably discharged November 6, 1946. On September 9, 1950 he married Lila R. Schweim at Zion Lutheran Church in Springfield. The couple farmed near Redwood Falls for 45 years. Glen was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church where he served repeatedly in many capacities. His faith was very important to him.
Glen is survived by his wife Lila of Redwood Falls; children: Margaret (Douglas) Eiler of Redwood Falls, Rodney (Joy) Hoffman of Redwood Falls, Janette (Allan) Koch of Garvin, and Lynn (Beth) Hoffman of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Melissa (Rodney) Eklund, Derek (Amber) Hoffman, Robin (Minh) Vu, James (Megan) Koch, Brian Koch, Nick Hoffman, and Anneliese Hoffman; and 9 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, grandson Kevin Hoffman, 2 brothers, and 1 sister.
