Lawrence Goche
Lawrence M. Goche age 93 of rural Seaforth passed away suddenly on Thursday, August 19, 2010 at his home while surrounded by his family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 25 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth.
Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a 6:00 p.m. parish prayer service. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Interment is in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lawrence Martin Goche was born on July 22, 1917 on a farm by Seaforth, Minnesota to Martin and Louise (Wartner) Goche. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. He grew up doing chores and helping with the farming. He attended school through the 8th grade, having to walk to Seaforth and cross the creek every day. He later attended Morris Agriculture School. On October 8, 1946, Lawrence was united in marriage to Bernadette Dieken in the Catholic church in Green Valley. They farmed in Sheridan Township for many years. Lawrence loved growing crops and raising livestock. He was a trustee in St. Mary’s Catholic Church for many years.
Lawrence is survived by four children: Geraldine (James) DePriest of Killeen, TX, Martin of Seaforth, David of Seaforth, Pauline (Mark) Schilling of Clear Lake, SD; five grandchildren: Ryan (Michelle), Sheila, Gary, Lisa (fiancé Joseph Ferguson), and Jared Schilling; and great-grandchildren: Christopher, Jasmine, and Alexis; one sister, Eleanora Kuelbs of Shakopee, MN; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Martin and Louise Goche, wife Bernadette, brothers: Walter and Dennis, and sisters: Thelma Atkins and Sylvia Menke. |
