Colleen Gustafson
Colleen Gustafson age 62 of Westbrook passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Sanford Westbrook Medical Center.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 11 at Grace Lutheran Church.
Visitation is 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Westbrook Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Interment is in Westbrook Cemetery. Stephens Funeral Service – Westbrook Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Colleen Gustafson was born June 1, 1950 in Mankato, MN to Roger W. and Lucille (Cox) Knudson. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Colleen graduated from Westbrook High School in 1968. Following graduation, Colleen moved to the Twin Cities to work for a few years before returning to Westbrook. On December 22, 1979 she was united in marriage to Glenn Gustafson at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. She worked at the bowling alley for many years and also at the family’s gas station, the Local Oil Company. In 2003, she became a stay-at-home grandma for her grandson, Zane. Colleen was a member of the Legion Auxiliary where she served as President for a number of years. She enjoyed league bowling, watching TV, baking desserts, and was an avid reader the last few years. She loved camping with her family and visiting with friends. Colleen battled cancer on and off since her diagnosis five years ago.
Colleen is survived by her husband Glenn “Gus” Gustafson; son Daniel Palmer; grandson Zane Palmer; mother Lucille Knudson; and mother-in-law Elsie Gustafson, all of Westbrook. She is preceded in death by her father, uncle Ted Cox, and father-in-law Kermith Gustafson.
