Thelma M. Halsne
Thelma M. Halsne, 94 of Tyler passed away Monday, September 20, 2010 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Tyler.
Memorial Services will be held at First English Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 25th at 10:00a.m. Visitation will be held on Friday from 5-8p.m. at the Tyler Area Funeral Home and will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment is in Hope Cemetery.
The Tyler Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Thelma M. Halsne was born April 7, 1916 to Clarence and Mary (Paden) Guida in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. She was united in marriage to Reuben H. Halsne on June 19, 1936 in Slayton, Minnesota. Thelma worked at several local businesses in Tyler over the years – the Chat-N-Chew, Ben Franklin, The Bakery and Meyer’s Clothing. She was a member of the Alliance Church in Tyler. Thelma was an avid Minnesota Twins fan, enjoyed cross stitch, knitting, reading and baking.
Thelma is survived by her children Wayne (Dorothy) Halsne, Dick Halsne, Shirley Johnson, Jan Nielsen, Eleanor (Jerry) Boyer; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandchildren, a son-in-law and a daughter-in-law.
