Richard Hanson
Richard A. Hanson age 62 of Tracy passed away Thursday, December 9 at his home surrounded by family after a 7 month battle with cancer.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 13 at Victory Christian Church in Balaton.
Visitation is 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the Tracy Area Funeral Home (372 Third Street) with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Private family interment will be held at a later date. The Tracy Area Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Richard was born May 24, 1948 in Tracy to Ray and Louise (Gilb) Hanson. He was baptized on July 4, 1948 and confirmed at Tracy Lutheran Church. He graduated from Tracy High School in 1967. Richard was married to Glenda Weaver on July 1, 1972 in Walnut Grove. Together they had three children. In 1974 Richard started working for the Tracy School District where he worked until his retirement. On April 29, 1989 he was united in marriage to Norine Forbregd at Tracy Lutheran Church. Together they had one child. Richard enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and trapping. He enjoyed collecting knives and guns. He loved his job and being around the people and kids at the school. He also enjoyed going to the Renaissance Festival. Richard loved to visit and spend time with his friends and family.
Richard is survived by his wife Norine of 21 years; children: Kami Hanson of Tracy, Joni Vee (fiancé Tom Backlund) of Tracy, and Troy Hanson (fiancé Sara Fehrman) of Tracy; stepson Andrew Forbregd of San Diego, CA; grandchildren: Michael Ellingson, Alex Ellingson, Destiny Vee, Dalton Vee, Danica Vee, and Sophiea Backlund; sister Alice Cowell of Butterfield; sister-in-law Judy Hanson of St. James; brother-in-law Ron Nelson of South Dakota; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Nichole Ellingson, stepfather Vernon Lamb, brother Lennis, sisters Doreen Nelson and Donna Mae Kathman, brothers-in-law Junior Kathman and Leo Cowell, nephew Perry Nelson, and niece Vonnie Stefanick.
