Rodney H. Hildebrandt age 75 of Redwood Falls passed away on Friday, August 27, 2010 at his home after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 31 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls.

Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday AT THE CHURCH and will continue one hour prior to services on Tuesday.  Interment is in the Redwood Falls Cemetery.  The Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rodney H. Hildebrandt was born October 2, 1934 in Appleton, Minnesota to Art and Evelyn (Hanson) Hildebrandt.  He was united in marriage to Mary Lou Alcox on January 31, 1953 in Olivia, Minnesota.  Together the couple lived and worked in the Olivia area for 11 years before moving to the Redwood Falls area in 1963.  Rodney worked for Central Bi-Products for 31 years driving truck, and later as transportation coordinator until he retired in 1998.  He liked traveling, wintering in Yuma, Arizona, fishing, taking leisurely rides on his Gator, mowing his lawn, and going to his grandchildren’s ball games.  Rodney thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Rodney is survived by his wife Mary Lou of 57 years; 7 children: Rodney “Butch”, Doug (Paulette), Jim (Barb), Dan (Deb) Hildebrandt, Mary (Gene) Luckhardt all of Redwood Falls, Deb (Greg) Price of Wabasso, and Dawn (Rick) Jansen of Renville; 17 grandchildren: Shannon (Seth) Allen, Stephanie, Kristi (fiancé Jeremy), (Lisa) Hildebrandt, Ryan, Eric (Kristi), Kari Hildebrandt, Jeremy (Renee) Hildebrandt, Amy (Shawn) Stelzer, Sarah, Chad (Sarah) Luckhardt, Mitchell (fiancé Katie) Price, Bethany (Matt) Plaetz, and Mistin Price, Brian (Ashley), Mark (fiancé Jenny), Brent, and Amber Jansen;  14 great-grandchildren: Jessica, Jacob, Eva, Jaylin, Blake, Morgan, Seth, Alexis, Madilynn, Aidan, RyAnne, Kaydence, Jasen, and Jaxon; father Art Hildebrandt; sister Audrey Serbus both of Arlington; and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by granddaughter Samantha Price, grandson Jeff Hildebrandt, mother Evelyn Hildebrandt, brother Donald Hildebrandt, and his beloved dog Lassie.
