James Walter Dallenbach, age 72 of Walnut Grove, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Seasons Hospice House in Redwood Falls surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 28 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Wabasso. Visitation is 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at the church and will continue one hour prior to services on Monday. Burial is in St. Matthew’s Lutheran Cemetery. James Walter Dallenbach was born May 29, 1943 in Tracy, Minnesota to Walter and Minnie (Kolar) Dallenbach. He was baptized and confirmed at Johnsonville Lutheran Church. Jim graduated from Walnut Grove High School in 1961. He began farming when he was 13 years old, after his father passed away. On August 27, 1966 he married Carol Lawrenz at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. The couple continued living on the farm where they raised their four children. Jim was involved with various farming operations. He was a conservationist and loved wild life. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, and spending time at his home in Florida. He was head usher and greeter at church. Spending time with his family was Jim’s greatest love.
Jim is survived by his wife Carol of 49-1/2 years; children: Terry (Lisa) of Walnut Grove, Chad (Cindy) of Walnut Grove, Tammy (fiancé Rick Serbus) of Wabasso, and Jaime (Matt) Schoper of North Mankato; grandchildren: Megan, Tarynn, Nathan, Mason, and London Dallenbach, Chelsie (Brenden) Lundberg, Chase and Carlie Dallenbach, Dylan, Tanner, and Karson Bock, and Lexi and Lani Schoper; and great grandson Colten Lundberg. He is also survived by his brother Dennis (Judy) Dallenbach of Walnut Grove, brother-in-law Larry (Myra) Lawrenz of Haines City, FL, and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Walter and Minnie and mother and father-in-law Alma and Ernest Lawrenz.
