Agnes Johanna Bertha Jensen age 87 of Belview passed away Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Redwood Area Hospital in Redwood Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview.
Visitation is from 5:00- 7:00 p.m. Monday AT THE CHURCH, and will continue one hour prior to the services on Tuesday. Interment is in the Vesta Cemetery. Agnes was born July 20, 1925 near School Grove Lake by Cottonwood to Andrew & Ella (Zimmer) Fischer. She was baptized August 25, 1925 in Posen Lutheran Church by Pastor J. Brauer and confirmed May 22, 1938 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Vesta by Pastor Karl Brickmann. On September 22, 1948, Agnes was united in marriage to Chester Jensen at the home of her parents by Rev. Kesting of St. John’s. She worked in the Vesta grocery store for several years, then at Redwood County Home Services. Later she began her own business of cleaning homes. Agnes also helped with the farming and driving tractors amongst many other duties. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary, Parkview Auxiliary, and Grace Lutheran Church where she was the leader of the church circle. Agnes enjoyed playing cards, watching the MN Twins, crocheting and embroidering dish towels. She had a collection of salt and pepper shakers. She also enjoyed helping older people, old time music, doing puzzles & word searches and decorating for the holidays. Agnes loved spending time with family and friends especially at Lake Ida. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt that touched the lives of many people.
Agnes is survived by her children: Richard Gary Jensen & wife Linda Lou Raddatz of Willmar, and Gloria Jean Jensen of Sacred Heart; grandsons: Jeffery Gary Jensen & wife Grace Albrecht of Willmar and Brian Andrew Jensen & fiancé Lynn Haveeka of Silver Lake; sister Louella Kasten of Belview; brother Darles Fischer of Vesta; her special friends at the lake; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Chester and sisters: Evelyn, Bernice and Darlene. |
