Michael “Mike” Johnson age 47 of Redwood Falls, formerly of Fairfax, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Season’s Hospice House in Redwood Falls.

Visitation is 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 15 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.  Private family burial will take place at a later date.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Michael Johnson was born March 23, 1965 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota to Gerald and Iola (Eller) Johnson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Fairfax United Methodist Church.  Mike graduated from Fairfax High School in 1983 and attended Willmar Vo-Tech for auto body for 2 years.  He lived and worked in various places before moving to Redwood Falls in 1991.  Mike worked at Zytec for a number of years.  Mike enjoyed golfing, fishing, and snowmobiling.  He also enjoyed going to Jackpot and playing Blackjack.  Mike was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Mike is survived by his mother Iola “Cookie” Johnson of Redwood Falls; 10 nieces and nephews: Eric Johnson, Holly Johnson, Matt (Lindsay) Johnson, Channing (Joe) Thielen, Shane Johnson, Cade Johnson, Corey Johnson, Faye Johnson, Nathan Golden, and Lynnaya Williamson; 7 great nieces and nephews; brothers Joel (Stacy) Johnson and Loren (Maureen) Johnson, both of Redwood Falls; and many other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his father Gerald on November 26, 2011, great niece Faith, and great nephew Jaysen.
