Kathryn Jo Clausen age 52 of Redwood Falls passed away Friday December 8, 2017 while surrounded by family at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis after an extended illness. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Viewing hours will be from 4:00 -7:00 pm Thursday AT THE CHURCH. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services Friday. Interment is in the Belview Cemetery. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers. Kathryn was born August 29, 1965 in Thief River Falls, MN to Joseph & Marian (Schams) Paradis. She was baptized September 26, 1965 and confirmed August 10, 1980 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Terrebonne, MN. Kathy graduated from Pershing High School in 1983 in Plummer, MN. She attended Hutchinson Vocational School. On August 11, 2001, Kathy was united in marriage to Randy Clausen at St. John Lutheran Church in Redwood Falls. Kathy worked at the Franklin Care Center, before working at SEI and Westwood Homes for many years. She later worked at Hirel Enterprises in Marshall, SouthView Assisted Living in Gibbon and Garnette Gardens in Redwood Falls. Kathy belonged to People First, Jesus Cares Ministry and volunteered assisting people with special needs. She loved crafts and making “Clausen’s Creations”, scrapbooking, cross stitching, and making mittens and quilts. She also enjoyed painting, playing cards and board games, especially Cribbage. Kathy & Randy enjoyed fishing with many nieces and nephews. Kathy & Randy enjoyed yearly trips to the Governor’s Fishing Opener.
Kathy is survived by her husband Randy of 16 years; siblings: Bonnie (Barry) Humphrey of Minot, ND, Ann Paradis of Gibbon, Linda (Randy) Olson of Gibbon, Nancy (Glenn) Ahlers of Brownton, & William “Bill” (Danielle) Paradis of Oklee; sister in law Valerie Paradis of Plummer; father in law Ron Clausen of Belview; sisters in law: Shelly Clausen of North Mankato, Kimberly (Jason) Knacke of Darwin, and Amy (Josh) McCabe of North Mankato; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers James Paradis and John Paradis on August 9, 2017, mother-in-law Marjorie Clausen on August 6, 2017 and brother-in-law Barry Clausen.

Randy and family, so sorry to hear of Kathy’s passing. I know how terribly she’ll be missed. I will miss her fabulous smile and her love of life. Now the Vikings really have to tow the line, the Packers have a new Angel following them.

Randy I am so sorry for the loss of Kathy! I enjoyed the times at your house when I brought Miss Sarah over. I am traveling for work so will not be able to attend Friday but I will surely be thinking of you all.
My heart is broken knowing she is gone. I will miss her smile and laughter. She will be missed.
