Kenneth “Kenny” Lien
Kenneth “Kenny” Lien, age 92 of rural Dovray, MN passed away on Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Care Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Dovray.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Interment will be in Our Savior’s Cemetery. The Westbrook Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be sent via www.westbrookfuneral.com.
Kenneth “Kenny” Lien was born June 7, 1917 to Ted and Ruth (Shaw) Lien on the family farm in Dovray Township. Kenny attended country school north of Dovray and worked as a farmhand until he was married. Kenneth was united in marriage to Roseal Hovde on October 3, 1940 in Dovray. Together the couple began farming their own farm near Dovray where he remained for nearly 70 years. Kenny went to the café in Dovray nearly every day until he could no longer drive there. He entered the Westbrook Good Samaritan Home on November 11 of this year. Kenny was a lifetime member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and a member of the Dovray Area Boosters and Senior Citizens. He served on the Dovray School Board for several years in the mid-to-late 50’s. Kenny enjoyed vegetable gardening, playing cards, cutting wood and loved horses.
Kenneth is survived by his children: Ron (Dorothy) of Westbrook, Jim (Linda) of Nevis, and Marilyn Lien of Minneapolis; four grandchildren: Neesa (Tom) Ruesink of Lakeville, Parker (Stacy) Lien of rural Westbrook, Lindsay Lien of Nevis, and Michael Lien of Nevis; six great-grandchildren: Austin, Logan & Annika Ruesink, Spencer, Hunter & Ava Lien; sister Geraldine (Curt) Carter of Jeffers; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Roseal, two brothers; two sisters; and stepmother Gustie.
