Lorraine Mae Meakins, age 87 of Marshall, passed away on October 15, 2016 at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Lorraine Mae Meakins was born on October 10, 1929 in Amboy Township, Cottonwood County, Minnesota to Alvin and Edna (Sorensen) Meakins. In 1942, Lorraine moved to the Faribault State Hospital where she lived until 1968.  In 1968, Lorraine moved to St. Peter, where she lived at the Minnesota Valley Social Adaptation Center. In 1974, Lorraine moved to Marshall where she worked for Services Enterprises Inc. and also cleaned hotel rooms until her retirement in 2009. After her retirement, Lorraine attended adult day service at Morningside Heights. She enjoyed embroidering and playing cards with friends.  Lorraine loved animals and spending time with children.

Lorraine is survived by many beloved friends. Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents Alvin and Edna, step-dad John Polzin, and sister Phyllis Bull.
