Margie Mary Mulenburg Zempel of Redwood Falls was born in on August 8, 1928 and died on September 20, 2013.  Margie had been living with Alzheimer’s for the past eight years and the struggle became too much so she let go, passing into peacefulness. A memorial service will be held at Redwood Valley Funeral Home on Wed, Sept 25th, 2013 at 11:00 am.   Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Margie is survived by her daughters; Glenis (Jeanie) and Debbie; brothers, Vern (Ruth), Johnny (Mae), and Jerry (Judy), in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; parents, Martin and Amanda; brother Bob and sister Lois.

Margie and Lloyd lived in Granite Falls until 1960 when they moved the family to Redwood. The most important thing in Margie’s life was her family. She was a great cook and an excellent baker.  She and Lloyd frequently entertained over the holidays with Margie relishing the role of hostess. She was a good seamstress and when her children were young made most of their clothing. Her favorite pastime was ‘visiting’ with friends and family. She worked part time retail for many years, taking pleasure in meeting and serving her customers. Her favorite job was at Harrold’s Shoes in Redwood Falls.
