Marie Rose Johanneck, age 88 of Wabasso, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016 at Wood Dale Nursing Home. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 20 at the Redwood Valley Funeral Home. Marie Rose (Kramer) Johanneck was born August 2, 1927 in Sheridan Township, Redwood County, Minnesota to Arnold and Rose (Boushek) Kramer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. Marie graduated from Redwood Falls High School and furthered her education at St. Catherine’s College in St. Paul and Southwest State University. On June 10, 1950 Marie married Lenus Johanneck at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Seaforth. She taught in the Wabasso district at Lucan, Vesta, and Wabasso before retiring in 1992. Marie enjoyed crocheting, knitting, wood carving, clay sculpturing, and gardening.
Marie is survived by her husband Lenus Johanneck; children: Philip (Agnes) of Redwood Falls, Stephen (Carol) of Robbinsdale, Kevin of Wabasso, Robert (Pat) of White Bear Lake, Jeffrey of Andover, Elizabeth of Richfield, Anne (Dennis) Hammerschmidt of Montevideo, Peter of Breezy Point, and Daniel of Wabasso; 15 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother-in-law Al Brey of Wabasso; and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, twin brother Myron, sisters and brothers-in-law Fern Brey, Florence and Jerome Johanneck, and Irene and Ken Parsons, and grandson Andrew Johanneck.
