Mark J. Baune age 89 of Wabasso passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at the St. Cloud Hospital.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Stephens Funeral Service – Redwood Valley Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mark J. Baune was born April 11, 1928 in Vail Township, Redwood County, Minnesota to Alois and Mary (Fischer) Baune.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Wabasso.  Mark lived on the family farm and did work for various farmers.  In 1965, he moved into Wabasso, and in 1981 moved into Heritage Prairie Apartments also in Wabasso.  He lived most of his life in the Wabasso area until he moved to Johnson Park Place in Redwood Falls in 2011.  In July of 2017, Mark moved to Valley View Manor in Lamberton.

Mark is survived by his brothers: Darrel (Margie) Baune of Wabasso, Ray (Gloria) Baune of Wadena, MN, and John (Carolyn) Baune of Rice, MN.  He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Donna (James) Frank, Irene (Roman) Anderson, and Dorothy (Richard) Lipinski.
